The community at Middle Lagoon welcomes you ...
The Howard Family set up Nature's Hideaway at Middle Lagoon in 1996 as a tucked away holiday destination overlooking a spectacularly isolated white beach bay.
The family have a deep affection for this unique and unforgettable countryside.
Originally most of the visitors were "locals" from Broome, but today people from all over the world come to share in Middle Lagoon's natural beauty, peace and wonderfully relaxed way of life.
Take a seat overlooking the beautiful ocean and enjoy getting to know the people that call this place home...
How to get here Driving
Middle Lagoon is 180 kilometres north of Broome on the Dampier Peninsula. Allow for at least two and a half hours to travel to Middle Lagoon from Broome - an entertaining morning's drive on a wide, pindan red road that runs past giant anthills through thick, green bush alive with the colours and sounds of the teeming Kimberley bush. Heading north on the Cape Leveque Road, the Middle Lagoon turnoff is on your left after Beagle Bay. Middle Lagoon is 32 kilometres from the turnoff. It is well signposted.
You'll need a four wheel drive, and if you don't have one there are a number of hire car companies represented in Broome. Check with the Broome Visitor Centre for details on 08 9192 2222.
We recommend that you check the road conditions with the Broome Visitor Centre (08 9192 2222) or the Shire of Broome before departing, as driving conditions can vary, and wet weather can result in closure of the road.
Broome is 2200 kilometres drive north of Perth and 1900 kilometres west of Darwin - several days drive from either of these starting points.
Flying
Qantas, Virgin Blue and Skywest fly frequently between Broome and Perth, Darwin, Kununurra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. There are also a number of regional airlines linking Broome with other Kimberley towns, the Pilbara and Darwin.

Bus services run daily between Broome and both Perth and Darwin. Many backpacker companies also provide bus tours from Darwin to Perth and return passing through Broome.
